Getting There

  • Car

    If you're driving from central Bingo, take Route 2 heading east towards Hiroshima. Continue on Route 2 for about 30 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 54. Take the exit for Route 54 towards Fukuyama. After about 15 kilometers, follow the signs for the Chugoku Expressway. Merge onto the expressway and drive for approximately 40 kilometers. Take the exit for Fukuyama-nishi and continue straight. Follow the signs to Myōen-ji, which will be on your left. Be prepared for parking fees which may range from 500 to 1000 yen depending on the time and duration of your stay.

  • Public Transportation

    From Bingo Station, take the JR Sanyo Line towards Fukuyama. The train ride will take approximately 25 minutes. Once you arrive at Fukuyama Station, transfer to the Fukuyama City Bus. Take the bus number 5 heading towards Myōen-ji. The bus ride will take about 20 minutes. Make sure to have some change ready as the bus fare is approximately 200 yen. Get off at the Myōen-ji stop, and you will find the temple a short walk from the bus stop.
