Getting There

  • Public Transport

    From Tokyo, take the Joetsu Shinkansen to Echigo-Yuzawa Station. Transfer to the Joetsu Line or Hokuhoku Line to Muikamachi Station. From Muikamachi Station, take the Mt. Hakkai Ski Resort Line bus to the final stop. The ropeway station is a short walk from the bus stop. Bus fare is approximately ¥500.

    From the Muikamachi Interchange on the Kanetsu Expressway, it's approximately a 20-minute drive to Hakkaisan. Follow routes 253 and 17. Parking is available at the base of the ropeway. Parking is free on weekdays.
