Getting There

  • Train

    From Hakata Station, take the JR Kagoshima Main Line towards Kurume. Ride for approximately 20 minutes and get off at Nakagawa Station. Once you arrive at Nakagawa Station, exit the station and head towards the east exit. After exiting, turn left and walk straight for about 10 minutes along the main road. You will see Arahito Shrine located at 3 Chome-6-20 Chu on your right.

  • Bus

    From Tenjin Station, take the Nishitetsu bus No. 30 towards Nakagawa. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Arahito Jinja' bus stop, which is the closest stop to the shrine. Once you get off, walk a short distance back towards the direction the bus came from, and you will find Arahito Shrine at 3 Chome-6-20 Chu, Nakagawa.

  • Bicycle

    If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from a bike-sharing service available in Fukuoka. Start from the city center and head towards the Nakagawa area. Follow the Fukuoka bike paths towards Nakagawa, which is about 10 km away. Upon reaching Nakagawa, use a navigation app to find Arahito Shrine located at 3 Chome-6-20 Chu. The route is mostly flat and offers a nice view of the city.

    If you are already in Nakagawa, you can walk to Arahito Shrine. First, find your way to the nearest main road, which is Chuo Dori. Walk along Chuo Dori until you reach 3 Chome. Turn into 3 Chome and continue walking for about 5 minutes. Arahito Shrine will be on your right at 3 Chome-6-20.
