Car
If you're driving from Hakone, take Route 1 heading east towards Odawara. After about 15 km, merge onto the Tomei Expressway (E1) towards Nagoya. Continue for approximately 30 km, then take the Fujinomiya IC exit. After the toll gate, turn left onto Route 139. Follow Route 139 for about 10 km, then turn right onto Route 469. Drive for another 5 km until you reach Kitayamahonmonji at 4965 Kitayama, Fujinomiya, Shizuoka 418-0112.
Public Transportation
To reach Kitayamahonmonji using public transport, start from Hakone-Yumoto Station. Take the Hakone Tozan Railway to Odawara Station. From Odawara, transfer to the JR Tokaido Line and head towards Mishima Station. At Mishima, transfer to the Fujikyu Railway and take the Fujisan Limited Express to Fujinomiya Station. From Fujinomiya Station, you can take a local bus (Bus line 1 towards Kitayama) for about 20 minutes. Get off at the Kitayama stop, and the temple is a short 10-minute walk from the bus stop.
