From Hakone-Yumoto Station, cross the Ajisai Bridge and walk along Route 1 (also known as National Route 1) towards Odawara. The museum is located next to the town hall, about a 5-minute walk from the station. There are signs for the Hakone Town History Museum.

From Hakone-Yumoto Station, take the Hakone Tozan Bus or Izu Hakone Bus and get off at the Yumoto Station stop or the Shimojuku stop. The museum is a short walk from either bus stop. Bus fare is approximately ¥280-¥650.

A taxi from Hakone-Yumoto Station to the museum takes about 5 minutes. The taxi rank is located after the deck passage, where the buses towards Hakone are. The estimated fare is ¥700-¥900.
