The English House: A Slice of History in Kobe

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from central Harima, take Route 2 towards Kobe. Follow the signs for Kobe until you reach Chuo Ward. Once in Chuo Ward, look for Kitanocho. The English House is located at 2 Chome-3-16 Kitanocho. There is parking available nearby, but be prepared for potential parking fees, which can range from ¥300 to ¥1000 depending on the duration and location.

• Train

  From Harima, take the JR Sanyo Line towards Kobe. Disembark at Sannomiya Station, which is the closest major station to The English House. From Sannomiya Station, you can take a taxi directly to The English House for a fare of approximately ¥1,000 - ¥1,500, or you can walk (about 20 minutes). To walk, exit Sannomiya Station, head northwest towards the Kitano area, and follow the signs to Kitanocho.

• Bus

  Take the local bus from Harima to Kobe. You can catch a bus from Harima Station to Sannomiya Station, which costs around ¥500. After arriving at Sannomiya Station, follow the same instructions as mentioned above for walking or taking a taxi to The English House.

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from any location in Harima to The English House. Just provide the driver with the address: 2 Chome-3-16 Kitanocho, Chuo Ward, Kobe. The fare will generally be between ¥3,000 and ¥4,000 depending on traffic and exact pickup location.
