Car
If you're driving, start from Takayama city center. Head southeast on Route 158 towards Okuhida. Follow Route 158 for about 30 kilometers for approximately 40 minutes. Look for signs directing you towards Shin-Hotaka Ropeway. Once you reach the area, you will see the Shin-Hotaka Visitor Center located at 711-1 Okuhida Onsengo Kansaka. There is parking available nearby.
Public Transportation
To reach the Shin-Hotaka Visitor Center using public transport, take the Nohi Bus from Takayama Station. Board the bus heading towards 'Shin-Hotaka Onsen' and enjoy the scenic ride, which lasts about 50 minutes. Get off at the 'Shin-Hotaka Onsen' bus stop. From there, the Shin-Hotaka Visitor Center is a short 5-minute walk. Just follow the signs towards the ropeway and you will find the center at 711-1 Okuhida Onsengo Kansaka.
