If you're driving to Mount Aso from the center of Higo, head southwest on Route 57. Continue to follow Route 57 for approximately 30 kilometers. You will see signs for Aso and Mount Aso. As you approach Aso, take the exit for Route 225 towards Takawara. Follow Route 225 for about 10 kilometers, and you will arrive at the parking area near Mount Aso. Look for the designated parking signs.

To reach Mount Aso using public transportation, take a train from Higo Station to Aso Station. This journey typically takes about 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Aso Station, exit the station and look for the bus stop located directly outside. Take the 'Aso Loop Bus' towards Takawara. The bus ride will take around 30 minutes, and you should get off at the Takawara stop. From the bus stop, follow the signs indicating the path to Mount Aso, which is a short 10-minute walk.
