Car
If you are traveling by car, start on the Hokkaido Expressway (道央自動車道) and head towards Muroran. Take the Muroran IC exit and follow Route 36 until you reach the city center. Once in Muroran, follow the signs for Cape Chikyu (地球岬). The drive from Sapporo to Cape Chikyu usually takes about 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on traffic. There is no toll fee from Sapporo to Muroran, but be prepared for parking fees at the Cape Chikyu parking lot.
Public Transportation (Train and Bus)
To reach Cape Chikyu using public transportation, take the train from Sapporo Station to Muroran Station. The train ride takes approximately 2.5 hours. Once you arrive at Muroran Station, exit the station and head to the bus terminal located nearby. Take the Donan Bus (道南バス) bound for Cape Chikyu (地球岬行き). The bus ride takes about 30 minutes and costs around 600 yen. The bus schedule may vary, so be sure to check the latest timetable upon arrival.
Local Taxi
If you prefer a more direct method after reaching Muroran, you can take a taxi from Muroran Station to Cape Chikyu. The taxi ride takes about 20 minutes and costs approximately 2,500 to 3,000 yen. This option is convenient if you are traveling with a group or have luggage.
