Getting There

  • Car

    From Furano, drive south on Route 38, then turn onto Route 465 towards Minamifurano. Follow Route 465 along the Sorachi River to Kanayama Lake. Parking is available at the Kanayama Lake Campground and other designated areas around the lake. Parking is free.

  • Public Transport

    Take the JR bus to the Higashi-shikagoe JR Train Station, located at the northern end of the lake. From there, it's a short walk to the lake. Note that trains no longer run to this station due to typhoon damage. Bus fares vary depending on the origin, but a short trip within Minamifurano will typically cost around ¥200-¥300.
