Getting There

  • By Car

    If you are driving from Sapporo, take the Hokkaido Expressway (道央自動車道). After approximately 90 minutes, take the exit toward Minamifurano. Continue on Route 237, which will take you through beautiful landscapes. Follow the signs for Mount Yūbari. Parking is available near the trailhead, but be aware that there may be a parking fee of around 500 yen.

  • By Train and Bus

    From Sapporo Station, take the JR Muika Station Line to Minamifurano Station. The journey takes about 2 hours. Upon arrival at Minamifurano Station, take the local bus (Minamifurano Kotsu) heading towards Kanayama. The bus ride will take around 30 minutes. Make sure to check the schedule in advance as buses may not run frequently. Once you reach the Kanayama area, you can walk to the Mount Yūbari trailhead, which is about a 10-15 minute walk from the bus stop.

  • By Bus from Sapporo

    Take a direct highway bus from Sapporo to Minamifurano. Buses leave from Sapporo Station and the journey typically takes about 2.5 hours. Upon reaching Minamifurano, you can either take a taxi to the base of Mount Yūbari or use local bus services to reach the Kanayama area. If you opt for a taxi, expect to pay around 3,000 yen for the ride.
