Matsumoto Everything Tour: Castle, Miso, Wasabi, Wine & Ukiyo-e
Lovely tour of Matsumoto
Aoi was a fantastic guide! She had our e-tickets ready so we skipped the line at Matsumoto Castle — the castle itself is stunning, just be warned the stairs are incredibly steep and a little scary going up and down. The miso soup lunch was delicious, and we learned about miso from the 6th-generation owner whose family has been making it for around 150 years. The wasabi farm was so pretty, and the wasabi ice cream genuinely tasted like wasabi! The winery was beautiful with grapes still on the vine, and they let us walk right through it — Masa even showed us the wine cellar with the oak barrels (I may have bought four bottles…). The ukiyo-e museum had gorgeous prints available for purchase too. Aoi kept everything running smoothly all day — highly recommend this tour!
