Public Transport

From Tokyo Station, take the JR Yamanote Line to Hamamatsucho Station (¥90-¥220, 6 minutes). From there, it's a 15-minute walk to Tokyo Tower. Alternatively, take the Mita Subway Line from Otemachi Station to Onarimon Station (¥160-¥190, 22 minutes), followed by a 5-minute walk. A Tokyo Subway Pass can provide unlimited travel on Tokyo Metro and Toei Subway lines. Another option is to take the bus from Tokyo Station Marunouchi South Exit to Tokyo Tower (¥220, 18 minutes), followed by a 2-minute walk.

Taxi

From Tokyo Station, a taxi ride to Tokyo Tower typically takes around 3 minutes and costs between ¥2,200 and ¥2,600. Taxi fares in Tokyo start at ¥470, with an additional ¥430 per kilometer. Ride-hailing apps are also available. Be aware that fares may increase by 20% during nighttime hours.

Walking

From nearby areas like Shiba Park or Zojoji Temple, Tokyo Tower is easily accessible on foot. The walk from Tokyo Station is approximately 45 minutes.

Car

If driving, parking is available adjacent to Tokyo Tower for ¥600 for the first hour and ¥300 for each additional 30 minutes. The parking lot is open from 9:00 to 23:00, with the latest entry at 22:30. Nearby parking lots are also available.

Hydrogen Shuttle Bus

A free shuttle bus runs from Tokyo Station Marunouchi Exit to WATERS Takeshiba, Hinode Pier, and Tokyo Tower. The journey from Tokyo Station to Tokyo Tower takes approximately 38 minutes. This bus is operated by JR East.

Overview

Tokyo Tower, completed in 1958, is a prominent landmark in Tokyo's skyline and a symbol of Japan's rapid post-war economic growth. Designed by Tachu Naito, the 333-meter lattice tower was inspired by the Eiffel Tower in Paris. For decades, it was the tallest structure in Japan until the construction of the Tokyo Skytree in 2012. The tower features two main observation decks: the Main Deck at 150 meters and the Top Deck at 250 meters, offering stunning views of the Tokyo metropolis. On clear days, visitors can spot landmarks like the Tokyo Skytree and even Mount Fuji in the distance. The Main Deck also features a glass floor for a thrilling look straight down.At the base of the tower is Foot Town, a multi-level complex with shops, restaurants, cafes, and entertainment options. Here, guests can find everything from souvenir shops to e-sports entertainment. Tokyo Tower also hosts seasonal light installations and events, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere, especially during winter. The tower is painted in international orange and white to comply with air safety regulations.
