Discover more about Tokyo Tower

Tokyo Tower, standing at 333 meters (1,092 feet), is an iconic symbol of Tokyo and Japan's post-war recovery. Completed in 1958, it was designed by Tachu Naito and served as a broadcasting tower and a symbol of Japan's modernization. The tower's design, inspired by the Eiffel Tower, incorporates unique Japanese elements and is painted in international orange and white to comply with aviation regulations. Originally built to transmit television and radio waves, Tokyo Tower quickly became a popular tourist attraction. Visitors can ascend to the Main Deck at 150 meters for city views or continue to the Top Deck at 250 meters for panoramic vistas. On clear days, you might even spot Mount Fuji in the distance. The tower also hosts seasonal light installations and events, creating a festive atmosphere. At the base of the tower is Foot Town, a multi-level complex with restaurants, shops, museums, and entertainment options. Here, you can find everything from souvenir shops to the Red Tokyo Tower e-sports entertainment complex. While the Tokyo Skytree surpassed it in height in 2012 and took over many of its broadcasting functions, the Tokyo Tower remains a beloved landmark and a symbol of Tokyo's skyline.
