Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, head towards the Izu Peninsula Geopark located at 1638 Suzaki, Shimoda, Shizuoka 415-0014. Use Route 135 to access the area. From central Izu, follow the signs for Route 135 southbound. The drive takes approximately 30-40 minutes depending on traffic conditions. There are parking facilities available at the Geopark, but be aware that parking may incur a fee, typically around 500 yen.

  • Public Transportation - Train

    For those using public transportation, take a train to Izukyu-Shimoda Station. From Tokyo, you can take the Odoriko Limited Express train which takes about 2.5 hours. Upon arrival at Izukyu-Shimoda Station, exit the station and catch a local bus heading towards Suzaki. The bus ride will take approximately 20 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as services may vary.
