If you're driving from Kai, take the Chuo Expressway and head towards Kofu. Continue on the expressway until you reach the Saku Interchange. From there, follow the signs for Route 20 East towards Tateshina. After approximately 15 km, take the exit for Route 254 towards Chiba. Follow Route 254 for about 30 km until you reach Kujukuri. Once in Kujukuri, navigate towards Katakai using local road signs. The total drive should take around 1 hour and 30 minutes, depending on traffic. Note that there may be toll fees on the expressway totaling around ¥1,000-¥2,000.

Public Transportation
To reach Katakai Beach using public transportation, start by taking a train from Kai City Station to Chuo Line towards Tokyo. Transfer at Otsuki Station to the JR Chuo Main Line and head towards Takao. At Takao Station, switch to the JR Sobu Line towards Choshi. Get off at Kujukuri-Hongo Station. From there, you can take a local bus (Bus service number 70) to Katakai Beach. The entire journey will take approximately 2 to 2.5 hours depending on transfer times.
