Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, start from the center of Kyoto and head southeast on Route 1. Continue on Route 1 for approximately 20 minutes until you reach the intersection with Route 24. Turn left onto Route 24 and follow the signs for Fushimi. After about 10 minutes, look for signs directing you to Daigo-ji. Turn right onto Daigohigashiojicho, and you will find Daigo-ji at number 22 on your right. There is parking available nearby.

    If you prefer to take public transportation, start by heading to Kyoto Station. From Kyoto Station, board the JR Nara Line towards Nara and get off at the Fushimi Inari Station (this should take about 5 minutes). From Fushimi Inari Station, transfer to the Keihan Main Line and take a train towards Demachiyanagi. Get off at Daigo Station, which is about a 10-minute ride. Once you exit Daigo Station, walk straight for about 15 minutes along Daigohigashiojicho, and you will arrive at Daigo-ji, located at number 22.
