Train
To reach Iga Ueno Castle from Kyoto, start by heading to Kyoto Station. Take the Kintetsu Kyoto Line train towards Nara. After approximately 30 minutes, transfer at Yamato-Saidaiji Station to the Kintetsu Ikoma Line. Continue on this line for another 30 minutes until you arrive at Iga-Ueno Station. Exit the station and take the East exit. From there, it is a 15-20 minute walk to the castle. Follow the signs leading towards Ueno Park, and you will see Iga Ueno Castle shortly after.

Bus
From Kyoto Station, you can take a highway bus to Iga City. Look for the buses at the bus terminal outside Kyoto Station. The journey will take about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Iga City, you can catch a local bus or take a taxi to Ueno Park, where Iga Ueno Castle is located. The castle is a short walk from the bus stop.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Kyoto. Head towards the Kamo River and follow the river upstream. After about 12 kilometers, you will reach the outskirts of Iga City. From there, follow the signs to Ueno Park. The total cycling distance is around 17 kilometers and will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, depending on your cycling speed.
