Getting There

    From Mikawa, head north on Route 41 towards Takayama. After approximately 30 kilometers, take the exit toward Route 158. Continue for about 10 kilometers until you reach Takayama. Follow signs for Hida Great Limestone Cave, which is located at 1147 Nyukawacho Hiyomo, Takayama, Gifu 506-2256. The cave is well-marked, and there is parking available on-site. Note that the entrance fee is around 1,200 yen for adults.

  • Public Transportation (Train)

    From Mikawa Station, take the JR Hida Limited Express train to Takayama Station. The journey takes about 2 hours and costs approximately 3,000 yen. Upon arrival at Takayama Station, exit the station and find the bus stop located just outside. Take the Nohi Bus (Hida Great Limestone Cave route) which will take you directly to the cave. The bus ride takes around 30 minutes and costs about 600 yen. Ensure to check the bus schedule as it may vary.
