Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Mikawa's central area and take Route 259 towards Tahara. Continue on Route 259 for about 30 kilometers (approximately 40 minutes). As you approach Tahara, follow the signs for Cape Irago. You will take a left turn onto Prefectural Route 35. Continue on this road until you reach the Cape Irago Lighthouse. There is a parking lot near the lighthouse where you can park your car, which is typically free of charge.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, begin your journey at Mikawa Station. Take the JR Tokaido Line train towards Toyohashi and get off at Tahara Station (about 25 minutes). From Tahara Station, you can take a local bus towards Cape Irago; look for the Irago line bus (approximately 30 minutes). The bus will drop you off near the entrance to Cape Irago Lighthouse. Be sure to check the local bus schedules ahead of time, as they may vary. The bus fare is usually around 500 yen one way.
