Car
From Mimasaka, take the Chūgoku Expressway towards Okayama. The drive is approximately 1 hour. Take the Okayama Interchange exit and follow the signs for Okayama Castle. Once in Okayama, navigate to 2 Chome-3-1 Marunouchi, Kita Ward using your GPS. There is parking available near the castle, but it may incur a fee (around 500-1000 yen depending on the lot).
Public Transportation (Train)
Start by taking the JR Mimasaka Line from Mimasaka Station to Bizen-Okayama Station. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. From Bizen-Okayama Station, transfer to the JR Sanyo Line and take a train to Okayama Station, which takes about 15 minutes. Upon arriving at Okayama Station, exit towards the East Gate and take the tram (tram line 1 or 2) towards 'Okayama Koen' (Okayama Park). Get off at the 'Okayama Koen' stop. From the tram stop, it is a 10-minute walk to Okayama Castle at 2 Chome-3-1 Marunouchi. The total cost for the train and tram will be around 1000-1500 yen.
Public Transportation (Bus)
From Mimasaka, take a local bus to Okayama. Buses leave from the Mimasaka Bus Terminal and take approximately 1 hour. Ensure to check the schedule ahead of time as there may be limited departures. Once you arrive at Okayama Bus Terminal, take a local bus or a taxi to reach Okayama Castle, which is about a 10-minute ride. The bus fare is usually around 400-600 yen. If you choose a taxi, it could cost around 1000 yen.
