Car
If you are traveling by car from the Mount Fuji area, take the Fujikyu Highway (Route 139) towards Hakone. Follow the signs for Hakone and continue on Route 1 (Hakone bypass). After about 30 minutes, keep an eye out for signs directing you to Motohakone. Once you reach Motohakone, follow the road signs leading directly to Hakone Shrine. There is a parking area available near the shrine.
Public Transportation
To reach Hakone Shrine using public transportation, start by taking a bus from the Mount Fuji area to Hakone. You can catch the bus at the Fujikyu Shizuoka Station or any nearby bus stop. Look for the 'Hakone' or 'Motohakone' bus lines. The journey will take approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at Motohakone, the shrine is a short 10-minute walk from the bus stop. Follow the signs directing you to Hakone Shrine, which is located along the lakeshore.
