Car
If you are driving, start from Nagasaki city center and take Route 35 heading north towards Sasebo. Continue on Route 35 for about 40 kilometers until you reach the city of Sasebo. Once in Sasebo, follow the signs to Funakoshicho and turn onto Route 204. After approximately 5 kilometers, look for signs for Ishidake Observatory. There will be a parking area available near the observatory.
Public Transportation
To get to Ishidake Observatory by public transportation, take a train from Nagasaki Station to Sasebo Station on the JR Sasebo Line. The journey takes around 1 hour. Once you arrive at Sasebo Station, exit the station and head to the bus terminal located adjacent to the station. Take the local bus bound for Funakoshicho. After about 30 minutes, disembark at the Ishidake Observatory stop. From there, follow the signs to the observatory, which is a short walk uphill.
