Car
From the center of Nagasaki City, head northwest on Route 34. Follow the signs towards Sasebo. After approximately 45 kilometers, take the exit for Sasebo and follow the signs for Route 202. Continue straight for about 10 kilometers until you reach Shimofunakoshicho. Look for the Tenkaiho Observatory signs. The observatory is located at 399 Shimofunakoshicho, Sasebo. There is ample parking available.
Public Transportation
Begin your journey at Nagasaki Station. Take the JR Sasebo Line train towards Sasebo Station. The train ride will take approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at Sasebo Station, exit the station and look for the bus terminal. Take the Sasebo City Bus No. 2 (bound for Shimofunakoshicho) and disembark at the Tenkaiho Observatory stop. The observatory is just a short walk from the bus stop, located at 399 Shimofunakoshicho, Sasebo. Be sure to check the bus timetable for return trips.
