Bus
From Nara Station, take the Kintetsu Nara Line to Kyoto Station. At Kyoto Station, transfer to Bus No. 26 (Kiyotaki Line) towards Kiyotaki and get off at the 'Giōji' stop. The temple is just a short walk from the bus stop; follow the signs that lead you directly to the entrance.
Train and Walk
From Nara Station, take the Kintetsu Nara Line to Kintetsu Kyoto Station. Once at Kintetsu Kyoto Station, exit and head towards the subway station to take the Karasuma Line. Get off at Karasuma Oike Station and transfer to the Tozai Line. Travel to the 'Nanzenji' Station. Exit the station and walk towards the north along the Philosopher's Path. After about a 20-minute walk, you will reach Giōji, which is located on Sagatoriimoto Kozakacho.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from Nara. Simply tell the driver 'Giōji' or provide them with the address: 32 Sagatoriimoto Kozakacho, Ukyo Ward, Kyoto. The ride will take approximately 45 minutes, depending on traffic.
Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle in Nara. Cycle along the scenic roads towards Kyoto. The route is approximately 30 km and will take about 2 hours, depending on your speed. Follow the route towards Kiyotaki and then head to Sagatoriimoto. Use a map application on your phone to guide you to Giōji once you are in the vicinity.
