Train
From Nara Station, take the Kintetsu Nara Line towards Kyoto. Ride the train for about 45 minutes. Get off at Fushimi Inari Station. From the station, head towards the main road and follow the signs to Hokai-ji, which is approximately a 15-minute walk. You will walk straight until you reach the intersection, then turn left onto Hinonishidaidocho. Continue walking until you see the temple on your right.
Bus
From Nara Park, walk to the nearest bus stop and take the Nara Kotsu Bus #2 towards Kyoto Station. Ride for about 30 minutes and get off at the Fushimi Ward stop. From there, head east on Hinonishidaidocho street for about 10 minutes. Hokai-ji will be on your right side.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from anywhere in Nara. Just tell the driver 'Hokai-ji Temple' or show them the address: 〒601-1417 Kyoto, Fushimi Ward, Hinonishidaidocho, 19. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes depending on traffic.
Walking
If you are near Fushimi Inari Taisha, it is about a 20-minute walk to Hokai-ji. Head south from Fushimi Inari towards the main road, turn left onto Hinonishidaidocho, and walk straight for about 1.5 kilometers. The temple will be on your right.
