Getting There

  • Train

    From Nara Station, take the Kintetsu Nara Line towards Osaka Namba. Travel for about 30 minutes and get off at Ikoma Station. Transfer to the Kintetsu Ikoma Cable Line and ride it to the top of Ikoma Mountain. From the cable car station, follow the signs for Minoh National Park, which is around a 20-minute hike down the mountain path.

  • Bus

    From Nara city center, head to the Nara Bus Terminal and take the bus number 70 towards Minoo. The journey will take approximately 45 minutes. Get off at the Minoh Park entrance stop. From there, follow the signs to enter Minoh National Park, which is a short walk from the bus stop.

  • Bicycle

    Rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Nara. Head north towards Minoh National Park by following the signs for the Yamato River cycling path. The ride is approximately 12 kilometers (about 7.5 miles) and takes around 45 minutes to an hour, depending on your speed. Once you reach Minoh, follow the road signs leading to the park entrance.
