Getting There

Public Bus
From Nara Park, walk to the Nara Kintetsu Station and take the Kintetsu Nara Line towards Kyoto. Get off at the Arashiyama Station (approximately 30 minutes). From Arashiyama Station, exit and catch the bus number 28 towards Tenryuji. After about 10 minutes, get off at the Sagatenryuji bus stop. Sogenchi Teien is a short 5-minute walk from the bus stop.

Train and Walk
From Nara Station, take the JR Nara Line to Kyoto Station (approximately 45 minutes). Once at Kyoto Station, transfer to the JR Sanin Line and travel to Saga-Arashiyama Station (around 20 minutes). From Saga-Arashiyama Station, it’s about a 15-minute walk to Sogenchi Teien. Head north on Arashiyama Main Street, then turn left onto Sagatenryuji Susukinobabacho Street, and the garden will be on your right.

Bicycle Rental
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops near Nara Park. Follow the route via the scenic roads towards Kyoto. It will take approximately 1.5 hours to reach Sogenchi Teien. Make sure to follow the signs towards Sagatenryuji and enjoy the beautiful surroundings as you ride.
