Getting There

  • Car

    If you're driving from Oki, start by heading to the nearest ferry terminal that connects to the mainland. Take the ferry to Shimonoseki, then drive towards Fukuoka on the expressway. Follow the signs for Tokyo, which may involve taking Route 2 and then the Tōmei Expressway. Once you reach the Tokyo metropolitan area, navigate towards Minato City using a GPS or road signs. Upon entering Minato City, look for Shirokanedai; Happo-en is located at 1 Chome-1-1 Shirokanedai, which is well-marked. The venue has parking facilities available.

  • Public Transportation

    From Oki, take the ferry to Shimonoseki. Once at Shimonoseki, transfer to the Shinkansen (bullet train) bound for Tokyo. Upon arriving at Tokyo Station, transfer to the JR Yamanote Line and get off at Shibuya Station. From Shibuya, take the Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line to Shirokanedai Station. Exit the station and head east on Route 414 for about 5 minutes. Happo-en is located at 1 Chome-1-1 Shirokanedai; you will see the beautiful gardens and the entrance on your left.
