Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Nishinoshima Port, where you can rent a car or drive from your accommodation. Head east on Route 9 towards Urago. Continue for about 15 km until you reach the sign for Matengai Cliff, located just off Route 9. There is a parking area nearby. The drive takes approximately 25 minutes.
Public Transportation
From Nishinoshima Port, take the local bus operated by Oki Kotsu. Board the bus heading towards Urago. You will need to get off at the 'Matengai Cliff' bus stop. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes, and tickets cost around 500 JPY. From the bus stop, it is a short 10-minute walk to the actual cliff, following the signs along the path.
Walking
Once you arrive at the Matengai Cliff bus stop, follow the marked trail that leads to the viewing area. The path is well-maintained and provides beautiful views along the way. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, as the terrain can be uneven. The walk is about 1 km and should take around 10-15 minutes.
