Getting There

Car
If you are driving, start from the center of Omi and head northwest on Route 17. Continue on Route 17 for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 292. Take the exit onto Route 292 and follow the signs for Shinano. After about 10 kilometers, you will see signs for Mt. Madarao. Turn left onto Arasebara Road, and after a short drive, you will arrive at Mt. Madarao.

Public Transportation
To get to Mt. Madarao using public transportation, start at Omi station. Take the local train on the Shinano Railway line towards Nagano. Get off at the Nagano Station (approximately 50 minutes). From Nagano Station, transfer to the bus service that goes to Shinano. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes. Disembark at the Arasebara stop, and from there, it is a short walk to Mt. Madarao.
