Public Transport
To reach Hozu Gorge from Kyoto Station, take the JR Sagano/San-in Line to Saga-Arashiyama Station. The rapid train takes about 14 minutes, while the local train takes approximately 18 minutes. From Saga-Arashiyama Station, it's a 10-minute walk to the Arashiyama area where the Hozu River boat tours conclude. A one-way trip costs around 410 yen.
Train & Boat
For a scenic round trip, consider taking the Sagano Romantic Train from Saga-Arashiyama to Torokko Kameoka Station. From there, a 15-minute bus ride (approximately 350 yen) will take you to the Hozugawa River boat ride departure point. Enjoy the two-hour boat ride back to Arashiyama. The Sagano Romantic Train requires a separate ticket, and advance reservations are recommended.
