Public Transport
From Kyoto Station, take the Kyoto City Subway Karasuma Line to Karasuma Oike Station, then transfer to the Tozai Line and get off at Higashiyama Station. From there, it's approximately a 10-minute walk to Okazaki Park. The subway fare is between ¥220-360 depending on the distance. A Kyoto Subway and Bus 1-Day Pass costs ¥1,100 and may be a cost-effective option.
Bus
Kyoto City Buses provide direct access to Okazaki Park. Several bus lines stop near the park, including the Okazaki Loop Bus. From Kyoto Station, take bus number 5 or 100 and get off at Okazaki Koen-美術館・平安神宮前 (Okazaki Park, Art Museum, Heian Jingu Shrine) bus stop. The fare is ¥230 for adults and ¥120 for children within the flat fare zone. A one-day bus pass is no longer available, but the Subway & Bus 1-Day Pass can be used.
Taxi
Taxis are readily available throughout Kyoto. A taxi from Kyoto Station to Okazaki Park will cost approximately ¥1,500-¥2,000, depending on traffic. The starting fare is ¥500 for the first kilometer, with an additional ¥100 for every 279 meters.
