Hidden Kamakura Hike Zen Temples Bamboo Forest and Great Buddha
Absolute one of a kind...
Absolute one of a kind experience - a side of Kamakura you simply don’t normally see. Come prepared - it’s as much a hike as a tourist experience, so you need good shoes. my 5, 7 and 9 year olds were more than able to hold there own and loved scrambling over roots in a bamboo Forrest while learning about the history of Kamakura. Darren is awesome, highly recommended.

Nice walk and good guide
Nice tranquil walk. An interesting talk about the Kamakura era. Friendly guide who speaks good English. Rainy day, but hey, that gives atmosphere too. I’m glad I did it. Bring a little cash for shrine entrance.

Great Guide Makes Kamakura Tour a Special Day
What a great tour! Our guide, Akiho, made it a wonderful experience. She knows Kamakura well, speaks wonderful English and fit right into our group of six crazy friends. She met us at the cruise terminal in Yokohama with a driver and van, and told us all about the local history while we drove there. We started at the Hokokuji bamboo forest temple, which was my goal for the day. I visited it years ago and wanted to return; many tours to Kamakura do not include it. She helped us find a great place for nikuman (steamed buns) and beer and set a great pace for the day. I would hire her again any time (and will, as I will return to Japan in 2027).
