Fantastic Time

A highlight of our trip! Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. Finding the guide from the train went very smooth and we got to know each other a bit on the ride over to the Café. The goshuincho making process was very easy thanks to the instructor and translations. They both look wonderful and we were able to use them right after making. The coffee and treat were excellent as well as the macha later. Definitely a worth while experience!

Bruno is an incredibly sweet and professional photographer! I reached out to him via WhatsApp after finding his website via an internet search. I was in the search for a photographer who could do a Kamakura photoshoot for me and Bruno came up as the best option. He responded back promptly and created a great itinerary tailored to my interests and photoshoot goals. I wanted pictures at the beach, near trains, and at temples - particularly at the famous Buddha temple and near the famous Slam Dunk inspired train stop. He was able to not only get all the photos I wanted but he also took me along less crowded and tourist-y paths where I got to see the more residential and local side of Kamakura. I learned a lot about the city from him and how the people are. During the photoshoot, Bruno never let my things touch the ground and was incredibly personable and kind and patient as I wanted more photos. He even recommended a nice Italian restaurant overlooking the whole city that I ended up eating dinner at and it was the perfect end to my day trip to Kamakura. After my photoshoot, he took the time to take me to my lunch restaurant spot and ensured I knew where I was going in the city. I appreciated that thoughtfulness especially as a solo traveler. I highly recommend booking your photoshoot with Bruno and getting a lovely unique tour alongside it as well.

Great Guide Makes Kamakura Tour a Special Day

What a great tour! Our guide, Akiho, made it a wonderful experience. She knows Kamakura well, speaks wonderful English and fit right into our group of six crazy friends. She met us at the cruise terminal in Yokohama with a driver and van, and told us all about the local history while we drove there. We started at the Hokokuji bamboo forest temple, which was my goal for the day. I visited it years ago and wanted to return; many tours to Kamakura do not include it. She helped us find a great place for nikuman (steamed buns) and beer and set a great pace for the day. I would hire her again any time (and will, as I will return to Japan in 2027).
