Roadside Station Hota Elementary School in Kyonan, Chiba, is a unique rest stop housed in a renovated elementary school. Closed in 2014, the school was reborn in 2015 as a roadside station, offering dining, shopping, and lodging. It retains many of its original features, creating a nostalgic atmosphere for visitors.

Walking
From Hota Station on the JR Uchibo Line, the Roadside Station is approximately a 15-minute (1.1 kilometer) walk. Exit the station and follow the main road, Route 127, heading south. The roadside station will be on your left. There are no specific costs associated with walking.
Public Transport
From Tokyo, take the JR Sobu Main Line to Chiba Station, then transfer to the JR Uchibo Line to Hota Station. The journey from Shinjuku Station is about two hours. The Japan Rail Pass can be used for this route. Alternatively, a bus from Tokyo Station Yaesu South Exit to Highway Oasis Furari, then transfer to a local bus or taxi to the Roadside Station. Bus tickets from Tokyo to Highway Oasis Furari cost ¥1,700–3,200.
Taxi
Taxis are available from Hota Station. A short taxi ride to Roadside Station Hota Elementary School will cost approximately ¥700-¥1000, depending on traffic.
