If you are driving, head to the Issa Memorial Museum located at 2437-2 Kashiwabara, Shinano. From central Shinano, take Route 18 heading east. Continue for about 10 minutes until you reach Kashiwabara. Look for the museum signage on your right. There is free parking available on-site.
Public Transportation
To reach the Issa Memorial Museum using public transportation, take the Nagano Dentetsu train from Nagano Station to Shinano Station. The train ride takes approximately 30 minutes. From Shinano Station, you can take a local bus (Kashiwabara Line) towards Kashiwabara. The bus ride will take around 15 minutes. Get off at the 'Kashiwabara Shako' stop. From there, it's a 10-minute walk to the museum. Alternatively, you could consider a taxi from Shinano Station, which would take about 10 minutes and cost around ¥1,500.
