Getting There

• Public Transportation - Train

  If you are in Suruga, start by heading to Shizuoka Station. You can take the JR Tōkaidō Main Line to Shizuoka Station, which is a major hub. The journey from Suruga to Shizuoka Station typically takes around 15-20 minutes. Once you arrive at Shizuoka Station, exit the station and look for the bus terminal located just outside. From there, take the Shizuoka City Community Bus, Line 100, which goes directly to the Shizuoka Sengen Shrine. The bus ride will take approximately 15 minutes. Make sure to get off at the 'Sengen Shrine' stop.

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Suruga and head south on Route 1 (Tōmei Expressway). Follow the signs towards Shizuoka city center. Once you reach Shizuoka, take the exit for Miyagasakicho. Continue on Miyagasakicho Street, and you will see signs directing you to Shizuoka Sengen Shrine. There is parking available near the shrine, but it can be limited during peak visiting hours, so plan accordingly. The drive should take around 20-30 minutes depending on traffic.

  From Suruga, you can also take a local bus to get to Shizuoka Sengen Shrine. Look for the local buses that head towards Shizuoka city. Buses typically depart from major stops in Suruga. Once you are on the bus, stay attentive to the announcements or signs as you approach Shizuoka. You will need to transfer to the Shizuoka City Community Bus, Line 100, at Shizuoka Station or the nearest stop. The entire journey from Suruga to Shizuoka Sengen Shrine may take around 40-50 minutes, depending on waiting times and transfers.
