Car
If you are traveling by car from Tajima, start by taking Route 312 towards Himeji. Once you reach Himeji, follow the signs for Himeji Castle (姫路城). There is a parking lot available near the castle, but it may charge a fee of around 500-1000 yen depending on the duration of your stay. Plan to arrive early to secure a parking spot as it can fill up quickly.
Train
For those using public transportation, the best option is to take the JR San'in Main Line from Tajima Station to Himeji Station. The journey takes approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at Himeji Station, exit the station and head towards the bus terminal or follow the signs for Himeji Castle, which is about a 15-20 minute walk from the station. Alternatively, you can take a local bus (Route 8) from the bus terminal to Himeji Castle, which costs around 210 yen.
Bus
If you prefer to travel by bus, take the highway bus from Tajima to Himeji. The journey takes about 1.5 hours, and the fare is approximately 1200-1500 yen. Upon arrival at Himeji Bus Terminal, follow the signs to Himeji Castle, which is about a 10-15 minute walk, or you can take a local bus that goes directly to the castle.
