    From Tokyo Station, take the JR Chuo Line to Ochanomizu Station. Alternatively, take the Marunouchi subway line to Ochanomizu Station. From Ochanomizu Station, follow the walking directions above. Subway fares in Tokyo typically range from ¥180 to ¥430 depending on the distance. A Japan Rail Pass may also be an option.

The museum is divided into three distinct departments: Archaeology, Commodities, and Criminal Materials.The Archaeology Department exhibits artifacts from the Paleolithic era to the Kofun period, including Important Cultural Properties such as earthenware and Paleolithic arrow points. These exhibits showcase the history and results of archaeological research conducted by Meiji University over the years.The Commodities Department displays a variety of traditional Japanese crafts, including ceramics, lacquerware, and textiles. These items offer insight into the lifestyles of the Japanese people and highlight the unique designs and expressions found in Japanese craftsmanship.The Criminal Materials Department is perhaps the most well-known, featuring artifacts related to the penal systems of feudal and pre-modern Japan. Visitors can view torture devices, legal documents, and miniature models depicting methods of execution from the Edo period. Replicas of a French guillotine and the Iron Maiden of Nuremberg are also on display.Admission to the permanent exhibition is free, making it an accessible and educational experience for all.
