    Getting There

    Public Transport

    From Shinjuku Station, take the JR Chuo Line to Ome Station (approx. 75 minutes). Transfer to the JR Ome Line to Mitake Station (approx. 20 minutes). From Mitake Station, take the Nishi-Tokyo bus to the Takimoto cable car station (approx. 10 minutes, ¥290). Alternatively, walk from Mitake Station to the cable car station (approx. 40 minutes). Take the Mitake Tozan Railway cable car to Mitakesan Station (approx. 6 minutes, ¥590 one way or ¥1,130 round trip). Total cost: Approximately ¥1760 (train) + ¥290 (bus) + ¥1,130 (cable car) = ¥3180 round trip.

    Walking

    From Mitakesan Station (top of the cable car), it is about a 30-minute walk to Musashi-Mitake Shrine. Follow the paved path through the village, passing the visitor center and souvenir shops. The path then leads to a large Torii gate and a long set of stone steps leading to the shrine.
