Discover more about Kurio River View

Kurio River View provides a serene glimpse into Yakushima's diverse environment. Located in Kurio, the westernmost village on the island, this spot is where the Kurio River flows into the ocean, creating a habitat for mangroves. The river's exceptionally clear waters and surrounding granite rocks add to the scenic charm, inviting visitors to explore the area by kayak or even try stream climbing. The mangroves themselves bloom with beautiful white flowers between June and July. The area offers a peaceful retreat, a chance to connect with nature, and a unique perspective on Yakushima's varied ecosystems. While in Kurio, take the time to explore the small village, walk along Kuriohama Beach, and appreciate the relaxed pace of life on this remote corner of Yakushima.
