If you are driving, start from Yakushima Airport or the main ferry terminal in Miyanoura. Head south on Route 58 towards Nakama. After approximately 20 minutes, you will reach Nakama. Look for signs pointing to Mt. Miyanoura. You will need to park at the designated parking area near the trailhead. Note that parking may incur a fee, so be prepared with cash. Public Transportation
From Yakushima Airport or Miyanoura ferry terminal, take a local bus heading towards Yakusugi Land. Ensure you check the bus timetable in advance as services may be limited. Get off at the Nakama bus stop. From there, it’s about a 20-minute walk to the trailhead for Mt. Miyanoura. The bus fare is approximately 500 yen. Once you arrive at the trailhead, you can begin your hike.
