Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, start from Yakushima Airport or any location in Yakushima. Navigate to Route 25, which is the main road that runs through the island. Follow Route 25 towards the southern part of the island. After approximately 30 minutes, you will reach the intersection near Nagata. Turn onto Route 78, following the signs for Nagata and Yakushima-todai Lighthouse. Continue on Route 78 for about 10 minutes until you reach the lighthouse parking area. Note that there is no entrance fee to visit the lighthouse.

    If you prefer to use public transport, take the Yakushima bus from Yakushima Airport or any major bus stop in Yakushima. Look for a bus heading towards Nagata.
