Getting There

    If you're starting from the Roman Theatre in downtown Amman, head northwest on Souq al-Suq Street until you reach the main road, Al-Hashimi Street. Turn left onto Al-Hashimi Street and continue walking until you see the signs for the Citadel. Follow the signs that will lead you uphill to the entrance of Amman Citadel.

    From the Jordan Museum, exit onto Al-Hashemi Street and head southwest. Walk for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with K. Ali Ben Al-Hussein Street. Turn left and continue straight for about 5 minutes until you arrive at the entrance of Amman Citadel.

    Starting from the Gold Souk, walk east on Al-Mahatta Street. Continue until you reach the intersection with Al-Hashimi Street. Turn right onto Al-Hashimi Street and follow it for approximately 15 minutes. As you approach the Citadel area, look for signs directing you up the hill to the entrance.

    You can take a local bus towards the Citadel area. Board a bus at the Al-Mahatta bus station, which is located near the King Abdullah II Mosque. Ask the driver to drop you near the Citadel. Once you get off, follow the signs leading you uphill to the entrance of Amman Citadel.

    If you're near the Al-Balad area, walk towards King Abdullah I Mosque. From the mosque, head up Al-Mahatta Street until you reach the intersection with K. Ali Ben Al-Hussein Street. Turn right and continue straight for about 10 minutes until you reach Amman Citadel.
