From Balqa Highlands, start by heading south towards the city of Madaba. Take the King’s Highway (Route 35) southbound. This scenic route will take you through various towns and beautiful landscapes. After approximately 45 km, you will reach Madaba. Continue on the King’s Highway for another 80 km, passing through towns like Mount Nebo and Al-Maghtas, until you reach the town of Wadi Musa. Turn left onto the road leading into Wadi Musa, where you will find signage directing you to Petra. The total drive should take around 2 hours, depending on traffic. Ensure to have a GPS or a reliable map application for precise navigation.

Public Transportation

To travel by public transportation from Balqa Highlands to Petra, first make your way to the nearest bus station in Madaba. From there, you can catch a minibus heading to Wadi Musa.
