Getting There

Car
From Burial Mounds, head west on the main road towards the town of Shobak. Keep an eye out for signs leading to Dana. After about 30 minutes, you will reach the junction where you can take the road towards Dana Biosphere Reserve. Follow the signs to Dana, which is about 15 kilometers from the junction. The drive will take you through beautiful landscapes, so enjoy the views! Upon arrival at the reserve entrance, you may need to pay a small entrance fee (approximately 3 JD).

Public Transportation
To use public transportation, first travel to Shobak by taking a bus or taxi from Burial Mounds. Buses leave regularly from the main bus station in Burial Mounds. Once in Shobak, you can find shared taxis that go directly to Dana Biosphere Reserve. The shared taxi ride should cost about 2 JD per person. Make sure to confirm the taxi goes to the reserve before boarding. The entire journey can take up to an hour depending on the wait time for the bus or taxi.

Walking/Hiking
For the adventurous, consider hiking to the reserve. From Burial Mounds, you can set out towards Dana by following the established hiking trails. This is only recommended for experienced hikers, as the terrain can be challenging. Ensure you have proper gear and sufficient water. The hike will take several hours, so plan accordingly and inform someone of your route.
