If you are driving from Burial Mounds, start by heading south on Route 15. Follow the signs for Wadi Rum. After approximately 40 km, you will reach the entrance of the Wadi Rum Protected Area. There is a small entrance fee of around 5 JOD per person. Once you enter, follow the main road until you reach the visitor center.
Public Bus
To use public transportation, catch a bus from the nearest bus station in Burial Mounds heading towards Aqaba. Once you arrive in Aqaba, transfer to a minibus that goes directly to Wadi Rum. The entire journey may take around 2-3 hours, depending on connections. Expect to pay approximately 10 JOD for the bus fare. Upon arrival at Wadi Rum village, you can hire a local taxi to take you into the protected area.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, consider hiring a taxi from Burial Mounds to Wadi Rum. This will be more expensive, likely costing around 50-70 JOD for the trip. Be sure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey. The taxi will take you straight to the entrance of Wadi Rum Protected Area.
