Getting There

• Walking

  To reach Safed from Umm Qais, start by walking towards the main road that leads to the city center. Head southwest on the main road until you reach the bus stop in Umm Qais. From there, you can catch a local bus heading towards the nearby city of Irbid. Once you arrive in Irbid, look for the buses or shared taxis that go to Safed. The journey from Irbid to Safed should take approximately 1-2 hours depending on traffic. After arriving in Safed, follow the signs or ask locals for directions to the city center, where you can explore the historical sites and attractions.

• Bus

  To travel from Umm Qais to Safed by bus, first head to the main bus stop in Umm Qais, located near the visitor center. Take a bus to Irbid, which is a common route. Once in Irbid, transfer to a bus or shared taxi heading towards Safed. Make sure to check the bus schedules and confirm the destination with the driver to ensure you are on the right vehicle. The total travel time, including transfers, may take around 2-3 hours.

• Shared Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct option, you can take a shared taxi from Umm Qais to Safed. To do this, walk to the main road and look for shared taxis waiting for passengers. Agree on a fare with the driver before getting in. The taxi will take you directly to Safed, and the journey should take approximately 1.5 hours, depending on traffic. This option may be more costly than the bus, but it provides a quicker and more comfortable journey.
