Bus
From Ma'an, head to the main bus station located near the city center. Look for buses heading to Wadi Musa, the town closest to Petra. The bus ride typically takes about 1.5 hours. Purchase your ticket from the ticket counter or directly from the driver. Once you arrive in Wadi Musa, disembark at the bus station, which is conveniently located near the entrance to Petra Archaeological Park.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from any location in Ma'an. Negotiate the fare before starting your journey; it should cost approximately 25-30 Jordanian Dinars (JOD) for a one-way trip to Petra. The journey will take around 1 hour. Ask the driver to drop you off at the main entrance of Petra Archaeological Park, located in Wadi Musa.
Shared Shuttle
Another option is to find a shared shuttle service from Ma'an to Wadi Musa. These shuttles can often be arranged through local hotels or travel agencies. Departures may vary, so check the schedule in advance. The shuttle will take you directly to Wadi Musa, where you can then walk to the entrance of Petra Archaeological Park, which is a short distance away.
